Tims Ford Lake Fishing Report
Keep a jig rod ready for the lee side if the wind gets too rough.
BEST TIME TODAY: 6:45 AM – 9:00 AM (now through 9am). That’s your primary window. The minor solunar just ended at 6:05, but the morning low-light bite is still hot with stable pressure, light wind (7 mph), and a rising 69°F water temp pulling fish shallow. If you miss that, the major solunar from 12:00 PM – 2:30 PM is your backup, but expect 22 mph wind by then — fish will be fired up but boat control gets tough.
Why the morning wins:
- Light wind (7 mph) lets you fish any bank cleanly.
- Stable pressure (1019 mb) and partly cloudy sky keep fish roaming shallow.
- Water temp rising 7°F recently has fish feeding aggressively on the first structure they hit.
- The minor solunar period just passed, but the following hour is still prime for reaction bites.
What to verify first:
Check wind direction on the water. If it’s blowing into the north or west banks, those are your best starting spots. Also confirm water clarity — if it’s stained from recent rain, go with a chatterbait or spinnerbait; if clear, start with a jerkbait.
If the morning window dies after 9am:
Slide to the major solunar window at noon. By then the wind will be up — fish the windiest safe bank with a 1/2oz spinnerbait or a deep-diving crankbait. Keep a jig rod ready for the lee side if the wind gets too rough.
