WHY IT WINS
- Water is 79°F with a cooling trend (-1.6°F), pushing fish to thermal transition zones where they can feed efficiently before retreating deep.
- The 6:39–9:09 AM major solunar aligns with low light and light wind (3 mph), giving you a window where fish will chase a reaction bait.
- Historical clarity imagery shows a stained, high-sediment lake – a high-vibration bait like a chatterbait creates the thump fish need to track in low visibility.
- The thermal map from June 29 shows a distinct boundary between the warmer orange eastern shallows and cooler blue deep pockets – that edge is the kill zone.
START HERE
Launch toward the eastern side of the main lake, focusing on the first major point or cove mouth where the warmer surface water (orange on thermal) meets the cooler deep water (blue). The narrow “neck” visible on satellite between the upper arms and the main body is a prime spot – it funnels fish moving along the thermal break. Look for any visible dock shade or laydowns on the edge.
THROW THIS
- Primary: 1/2oz black/blue chatterbait with a green pumpkin Zoom Super Speed Craw trailer. Slow-roll it just fast enough to feel the blade thump, and kill it every 5–10 cranks.
- Early backup: Bone-colored Super Spook Jr. (walking topwater) if the surface is calm and you see any dimples or bait activity.
- Midday switch: After 9:00 AM, go to a deep-diving 6XD in shad pattern or a 3/8oz football jig (green pumpkin/blue) – work the 15–25 ft break on the main lake deep channel.
BEST WINDOW
Be on the water no later than 6:15 AM. The major solunar runs 6:39–9:09 AM, and the light wind (3 mph) and rising pressure make this the only window where fish will willingly chase a moving bait. If you miss the first 90 minutes, the bite will flatten fast.
NEXT MOVE
If the chatterbait is dead after 30 minutes and you haven’t moved a fish, you’re not on the right edge. Slide to the southern shoreline dock clusters visible on satellite – pitch a 3/8oz black/blue jig with a Rage Craw to the shady side of every dock. The dock shadows provide the only reliable cover once the sun gets high.
