Siri shortcut
Say “Hey Siri, Lake Conditions”, then name a lake or say “favorites”. Siri answers with the current air and water temperature, wind, and today’s forecast from LakeMonster.
Build it once in the Shortcuts app. It takes about two minutes. Tap +, name it Lake Conditions, then add these actions in order:
https://lakemonster.com/api/siri/conditions?lake=[URL Encoded Text]&key=YOUR-SIRI-KEY (tap into the text and insert the URL Encoded Text variable where shown; the key part is optional).Sign in to get your personal Siri key. With it, “favorites” reads out the lakes you follow, and your questions are tied to your account.
Works on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, HomePod and CarPlay once the shortcut is on your phone. Water temperature comes from LakeMonster’s satellite surface readings; weather is refreshed when you ask.
Type a lake name to hear what Siri will say.
Each question: the time, what you asked for, the lake we matched, the answer, your device name if the shortcut sends it, and your account when your Siri key is used. We use it to fix names Siri gets wrong and to see which lakes people ask about. See the privacy policy.
